UTEC provides electrical engineering design, analysis and consulting services to utilities and industries. J. Ted Orrell and Gary W. Mullis founded the company in 1989. John S. Brown joined the firm as a partner in 1991. UTEC's home is in Asheboro, NC, with a branch office in Spartanburg, SC.

UTEC's staff includes nine engineers with an average of 26 years of experience each. Prior to forming the company, Mr. Orrell and Mr. Mullis worked for an international engineering firm, where Mr. Orrell served as regional, Mr. Brown has over twenty-five years experience in engineering and management with an investor owned utility.

HICAPS, inc. performs field investigations on all aspects of Building Envelopes to assist Property Owners and Managers for the purpose of protecting and caring for their facilities. Building cladding systems often do not perform as anticipated and construction or design deficiencies can lead to failure of building components. The failure of these building components can cause damage to the building and shorten its overall life span. A loss of building efficiency and structural damage can accrue creating hazardous conditions and unhealthy environments. The objective at HICAPS is to determine the best course of action needed to protect the health of employees and preserve the equipment and the cladding of the building. The HICAPS Team of professions have over 30 years of experience.

Computer Consulting Group

CCG provides clients a single resource capable of providing a wide range of computer related services. Our mission is to help clients get the maximum benefit from their computer technology investment. CCG was formed in January 1996 with support and backing of UTEC and FCG.
