THERMOGRAPHIC SERVICES
Picture

FCG provides a wide range of thermographic services.   Our Thermographers are certified by the infraspection Institute. FCG uses infrared, capacitance and nuclear equipment to perform nondestructive testing.  The following is a review of the equipment and testing procedures:

Infrared Thermal Imaging Radiometer
The Radiometer is used to detect the presence of moisture in roof systems due to the differential heat loss between wet and dry insulation.

Nuclear Moisture Meter
The nuclear gage we use is a noninvasive moisture detector (AM241 Be).  The depth of accurate readings of the nuclear moisture detector is approximately 6 inches.

Capacitance Leak Seeker
The capacitance scanner detects the presence of moisture in the roof system due to the differences in the dielectric constant between water and roofing materials. Each of these systems has unique limitation and neither should be used in the presence of standing water; therefore utilizing two of them in combination provides a desirable cross check with a correspondingly higher confidence level in the results obtained.
